DARK ESSENCE METAL FESTIVAL – FULL LINE UP
We at Dark Essence Records will be hosting our own festival in 2008. The
event will go down on 29.02 – 01.03.08 and will feature live performances
from 8 bands from the Dark Essence rooster.
The Program for the festival is:

The festival will be held at Garage (Bergen), the very same venue where
The Hole in the Sky Festival started out. Tickets are 150 Nrk + ticket fee
per day. Tickets can be bought at Apollon Musikk in Bergen, or through the
Dark Essence Records webshop.
NEW WEBSHOP
We have launched a new webshop on www.darkessencerecords.no. Here you will
find our releases at the best prices and also pre-order upcoming releases.
We will have exceptionally low prices as an opening offer for January and
February 2008.
TAAKE – SVARTEKUNST PRE-ORDER
The release date has been set to 03/03 -2008 for the Taake – Svartekunst
7". The record is avaliable for pre-order now in the dark essence records
webshop. The Svartekunst 7" include Taakes recent live performance here in
Bergen.
In other Taake related news; Terrorizer magazine's latest readers' poll
features Hoest and Osama Bin Laden in shared 6th place amongst last
year's "most evil persons".

Helheim and Vulture Industries will be touring Europe in March together

NEW SIGNING – THE BATALLION
We're proud to announce that the most masculin band in the world (forget
about Manowar!), The Batallion, has signed to Dark Essence Records. The
band consists of Stud Bronson (ex-Old Funeral, Bombers), Lust Kilman
(Grimfist), Colt Cane (ex-Borknagar, St. Satan) and Morden (ex-Taake,
ex-Deathcon), and they give you bad ass 80's death thrash metal!! Expect
the debutalbum, "Stronghold Of Men", out in Norway on the 17.03 and for
the world on the 21.04.

DARK ESSENCE AT THE INFERNO FESTIVAL 2008
This year, Dark Essence Records have 3 bands on the Inferno Festival.
Dead To This World will do their first show ever under the festival, and
plays on Thursday at the John Dee stage.
The Batallion plays opens on the Rockefeller stage on Friday, just days
after the release of their debut "Stronghold Of Men".
We've also started to work with Den Saakaldte, who will play on John Dee
on Friday night. Valdr from Malsain will play guitar on this gig.
HELHEIM – KAOSKULT
Helheim is in the closing stages of the recording of their sixth album,
"Kaoskult", at Conclave Studios in Bergen with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen.
The band says we can expect a darker and heavier album this time.
"Kaoskult" will be released on 17.03 in Norway and 21.04 in the rest of
the world. Fans of Helheim should check out Nuclear Blast's new viking
metal compliation, "Pagan Fire". The DVD on this compilation includes
Helheim's video for the song "Jernskogen" from the "Blod & ild" album.
Dark Essence Records will also re-release both "Blod & ild" and "Yersinia
Pestis" during 2008.
VULTURE INDUSTRIES NOMINATED FOR ALBUM OF THE YEAR
"The Dystopia Journals" has been nominated in the Best Avantgarde Metal
category for the Metal Storm Awards. If you'd like to show your support

Started in 2001 by Janto (Hades Almighty), Erik (Deathcon, ex-Aeternus),
Ice Dale (Enslaved, I, Audrey Horne) and T. Ringstad, for their mutual
love for sleazy, unpolished and raw rock'n'roll. After a couple of demos
and loads of live shows throughout Norway, they finally recorded their
debut album which will be released through Dark Essence Records.
Bourbon Flame is Bergen's own flagship in the dark waters of dirty
eighties inspired rock n' roll. The band carries considerable musical
weight and experience from their other band activities. Their self titled
debut album was recorded at Conclave & Earshot studios together with
producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen (Black Hole Generator, Helheim, Vulture
Industries, Dead to this World, Sulphur, etc.).

DEAD TO THIS WORLD – FIRST STRIKE. – OUT NOW
Formed in Bergen, Norway, in 2002 and was set out to be Iscariah's
(Necrophagia, ex-Immortal) solo project. Dead to this World sees the
return to the ancient speed/thrash/black metal underground, and remains to
this day a complete study and worship of ancient darkness.
After signing with Dark Essence Records, the debut album "First Strike For
Spiritual Renewance" was recorded at Conclave & Earshot Studio with
producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen. Drumming duties on the album are handled by
ex-Gorgoroth drummer, Kvitrafn. Some lyrics have been written by Jason
Healey from Atomizer.
Dead To This World delivers the most pitch black thrash metal you'll ever
hear!!

Recorded at Endarker Studio (Sweden) and features guestvocals from Mortuus
(Marduk/Funeral Mist). This is black metal at its blackest!
