For å finne ut litt mer om jentene og hva VÖLVUR egentlig er, ble intervju avtalt og gjennomført. Her kommer resultatet av vår digitaliserte samtale.

BERNIE TORMÉ - Dublin Cowboy

Av J.Nepper

BernieTorme_header_17.jpg
The innovative and hugely talented Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé recently released an all-out brilliant triple album entitled «Dublin Cowboy» consisting of a hard and edgy blues album, a mellow and moody acoustic album, and a highly energetic and atmospheric live album. Needless to say, Eternal Terror Live had to have a chat with the great man to discuss his latest musical endeavors, his past with Gillan and Ozzy Osbourne, the importance of Jimi Hendrix, the romantic idealization of the punk scene, and why he is not so keen on writing an autobiography. Apart from having fronted his own solo outfit for years and playing on the three classic Gillan albums that are "Mr. Universe", "Glory Road", and "Future Shock" not to mention that he has toured the world extensively, he helped Ozzy Osbourne out on the road following the tragic loss of Randy Rhoads, he joined the band Desperado with Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider in the late eighties, and he toured and recorded with the G.M.T. band later on. Those were just a few examples. Bernie's story is both inspiring and fascinating. Nowadays he is more active than ever, writing and touring as well as recording new material on a regular basis, running his own record label and recording studio, and being one hell of a cool guy. Conducting this interview with him on the phone was truly a pleasure and something that I will always treasure. A class act all the way! Once you have read this feature, head on over to the Bernie Tormé Bandcamp profile and check out some of the albums there.

SOEN - A chat about good songs and wolves

Av Andrea Chirulescu
(UDR Music)

Soen_header_17.jpg
Soen's 2017 tour with Madder Mortem as support act has ended on April 19th at John Dee venue in Oslo. I personally fell in love with Soen after the first few minutes of listening to their older albums, and while I still haven't fully digested their latest release, Lykaia, I knew I wanted to get a chance to the band members a few questions, as I am very fascinated by their music.
Luckily, both Martin Lopez (drums) and Joel Ekelöf had the time and kindness to sit down with me in between the soundcheck and what probably became a very quick dinner. Below is a transcription of the chat we had, after I removed various interruptions and silent moments. And in retrospective, after watching the show in Oslo and knowing how the band tries to make each show unique, I felt a bit sad that I didn't get the chance to watch any other of their concerts. I'll surely remedy this on the next tour, as the performance was absolutely mesmerizing and it is very obvious how they do not make compromises in delivering a top quality experience. But until the chance to watch Soen live again arises, here's the interview text and audio.

To a Thunderous Beat of Impending Doom - Part Two

Av J.Nepper
(An interview with BJØRNAR E. NILSEN)

BjornarENilsen_header_17.jpg
I have been meaning to interview Vulture Industries mastermind Bjørnar E. Nilsen for a long time now. I vividly recall being swept away by their 2010 album entitled “The Malefactor's Bloody Register” and from that point on my admiration and respect for the man and his many talents would only grow. The Vulture Industries discography is impressive in and of itself, both musically and lyrically, but last year's “A Requiem for Terra” release by Black Hole Generator, which was crafted by Mr. Nilsen, totally blew me away and I realized that I simply had to meet up with the dude and interview him. There were no two ways about it! I caught up with Bjørnar at the Conclave & Earshot Studios in Bergen on a dark and windswept Thursday afternoon in February to discuss the upcoming Vulture Industries album as well as the aforementioned and rather bleak affair named “A Requiem for Terra”. As usual, yours truly did not stick to any of the questions he had jotted down on paper before the interview took place and so we ended up discussing and reflecting on the importance of the written word, the blessing of inspiration and the lack thereof, and Bjørnar's many endeavors outside of the aforementioned two bands. Read on and do not forget to check out the Vulture Industries and Black Hole Generator releases on Bandcamp once you have finished reading this! Here's part two.
