RULED BY RAPTORS – new video out

RULED BY RAPTORS ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE & NEW MINI-ALBUM

Brit post-hardcore band RULED BY RAPTORS continue their ascension with new single Rescissory, out now alongside an accompanying video. The track is lifted from the band’s forthcoming mini-album, A Shadow That Never Moves, which is set for release on Friday 2nd October. The new single follows Algebra (I’m On A Rage), which was named Single of the Week on BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and picked up airplay on Kerrang! Rescissory is a song that has been circling with the band for a short time. Originally written for their last record, Silent Sound, they just needed to find the right lyrical context for it. The song eventually found its subject in the migration crisis, inspired in particular by the story of a toddler who tragically washed up on the UK shore. The track confronts economic migration, trickle-down economics and the hate mongering of politicians and the press, with the band aiming to remind listeners that migrants are human beings before anything else. The band explain: “Eventually inspired by the migration crisis, the track tackles economic migration and the hate mongering by politicians and the press. It’s intended as a reminder that migrants are human beings, before anything else.”

Formed in 2019, RULED BY RAPTORS are Chris Bradley (vocals/guitar), Matt Dewar (guitar/vocals), Nick Oliver (bass/vocals) and Will Robson (drums). The band have played festivals including Slam Dunk and Bloodstock, alongside support slots and coverage across the UK rock and metal press.

A Shadow That Never Moves grew into an eight track release after recording with Sam Cook in December 2023. Delays, including family illness, meant the project was put on hold before the band returned to finish the record. Matt Dewar handled the mixing, with Bob Cooper mastering. Chris Bradley adds: “We wanted to push the sound forward while staying true to what makes RULED BY RAPTORS who we are.”

With Rescissory arriving on 25th September and A Shadow That Never Moves following a week later, RULED BY RAPTORS continue their climb with a release that tackles some very real world subjects alongside their heavier sound.
