There are few songwriters out there who can top the legendary Jim Peterik (Pride of Lions) when it comes to crafting a delicious AOR tune filled with irresistible hooks. This instalment in the “World Stage” project sees him teaming up with renowned singers and musicians such as Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Don Barnes (38 Special), Paul Childers, and Kelly Kreagy (Night Ranger), and the result is rather satisfying and enjoyable. The songs are easy on the ear and possess an air of something uplifting and inspired, which is no bad thing in these troubled times. The melodies are good, the arrangements are perfectly suited to the instantly appealing and accessible nature of the material, and the crisp-sounding production fits to a tee. Utilizing different vocalists obviously means that there is quite a bit of variety in terms of flair, tone, and style, but Peterik’s compositions are musically cohesive throughout and with a couple of exceptions they are also noteworthy and a real delight to listen to. ‘Last Dream Home’, ‘Mend Fences’, ‘As I Am’, and ‘I Found Me’ are pure AOR/melodic rock genius.
