BURN OF BLACK – Danger EP

The Italian quintet Burn Of Black release a debut 5 song EP with "Danger"- and display an intriguing mix of thrash with modern/ alternative melodic singing and forays into conventional half-time groove breakdowns. A lot of the tight guitar riffing from Alessandro Bassani and Marco Markwild Piva reminds me of Mercenary and Machine Head meets older Trivium- especially within "Charon’s Rebellion". Vocalist Giacomo Cordioli possess more of a power/ post-modern rock voice- using his Geoff Tate/ Ray Alder-like high range and also doubling up harmonies for this spacey vibe on the title cut and the up tempo closer "Slave in Chains".
Vibrant production and to the point arrangements, Burn Of Black should find decent favor with the 16-25 generation who want an energetic release with a little bit of melody.
