VOIVOD – Post Society EP

Canadian’s avant-garde metal band Voivod are back again with a 5 song EP "Post Society", sort of a primer for their next album. We get 4 new songs plus their take on the Hawkwind song "Silver Machine" to conclude the half hour effort. Keeping up the odd-shape chord progressions from Chewy, equally hypnotic vocals from Snake, and the steady rhythm section of Rocky on bass and Away on drums – the material requires intense sessions to gather all the information put forth. Favorites currently include the scattershot, semi-speedy "We Are Connected" as well as the almost punkish meets chugging title track.
Never duplicated, Voivod have been able to survive tragic deaths, lineup changes, and stylistic shifts no matter what seems to be in vogue metal-wise. "Post Society" is another must-have if you love the risk taking, no compromise ideals the quartet live and breathe every waking day.
