DEMON LUNG – A Dracula

DEMON LUNG – A Dracula

The second studio album from Las Vegas, Nevada’s Demon Lung is another doom metal odyssey, gaining inspiration from a 1978 Mexican horror movie "Alucarda" – an alluring tale of demonic possession and lesbian lovers intertwined. Musically and vocally a lot of classic Candlemass massiveness appears, classical tinges and operatic avenues along with the lumbering riffs, evil bass and slow, pounding tempos. "I Am Haunted" and the exotically twisted "Mark of Jubilee" enforce mandatory slow head banging, while Shanda Fredrick’s chill bump melodies keep the story moving along seamlessly.

6 songs, one interlude and intro equal a 44 minute trip into the Demon Lung doom zone. The ship is steady and doesn’t stray far from the conventional template, so those who love straight ahead doom without a funeral or stoner element in sight should dig this band just fine.
