More Def Leppard-oriented hard rock here from the Swedish band Grand Design on their third studio album "Thrill of the Night". Vocalist Pelle Saether has a helium style range that can be a little nasally from a Stephen Pearcy meets Joe Elliott perspective on "Rawk N’ Roll Heart Attack" and "Get Up ‘N Love Someone". The music is simplified, party-oriented, and reflects back to a time when hard rock was an arena phenomenon.
This won’t change the world, but these 10 songs will make you scream and shout, guitar licks and vocal tricks that maximize fan involvement. I admit I need to be in the right mood for this, as it’s nowhere close to the brilliance of "Hysteria" or "Adrenalize".
